Eclipse: Twilight Saga
Finished with book three of the Twilight Saga. Eclipse holds the dynamic of a Soap Oprah and a Die Hard Movie wrapped into one. How is that even possible you might say? Well I'll tell you.
I haven't read the first book of the series. I know I know, it doesn't make sense to start a collection of books in the middle. Well, I didn't really care for the first movie all that much but since I had already seen it, why subject myself to reading the confusion times ten? The Soap side of the books so far is what has kept me from an overwhelming desire to read the first. Again we're faced with Meyer's knack for overstating the obvious of Bella, Edward, and Jacob's connection. As well as the progression of whether or not Bella does become a Vampire. I understand the Novel's have the tenancy of doing this in order to fill page space and create length, but I have to say when it comes to anything descriptive about Edward, the author defiantly jumped ship.
Now the Die Hard side of the book grabs your imagination and... well I'll let you decide how to describe it. After all, this blog is meant to peak your desire to read instead of just watch. But all I can say is that Jasper is a beast and I wish the author dove deeper into his character.
The end of Eclipse really takes everything else home when it comes to protecting your family. When droves of newborn vampires invades your home, against all odds, you protect your families. All in all I give the book Eclipse a 7 out of 10 in an overall read. Aside from the previously mentioned with descriptions, I enjoy Meyer's point of view on the potential lives of Vampires and Werewolves. Of course if I became a lover of romance and dramatic genres I would probably give it a 9 out of 10.
